Svalbard, 2023. I love winter in Svalbard, as it transforms Svalbard into a monochrome dreamscape. Amidst the chill of a tranquil, -20°C evening, the world adopts a monochromatic palette with icy water rippling and distant mountains nearly obscured by the clouds. In this ethereal setting, a group of northern fulmars flew close to me, adding a touch of life to this winter magic and by using a slightly slower shutter speed to exaggurate the depth difference between the close bird and far mountain, I created a 3D feeling in this scene.
