Falkland Islands, 2023. Nature's communal spa welcomes all, regardless of size. As I lingered near the commonly-photographed penguin shower, a king cormorant came in to take its turn. Towering in comparison to the rockhopper penguins you usually see, he
nonetheless also had a shower and a drink. I used a shallow depth of field to help the chaos of the surrounding environment fade into the serene feeling of an end-of-the-day shower. It’s a good reminder that despite our differences, penguins, cormorants, and humans share one planet and have things in common!
