Tussock Builder
Add to Lightbox DownloadFalkland Islands, 2023. After years of sheep and cattle farming, many of the native areas in the Falkland Islands were destroyed, and plants that native species rely on, such as tussock grass, have become hard to find. But in some areas, such as on Bleaker Island, farmers are shifting their focus to environmentalism and restoring native plants. This rockhopper colony lives near restored tussock grass, and the penguins pull off strands they use to make their nests on the cliffside.
