While we frequently use our cameras to capture sharp, precise moments of the world, I've become interested in using various optical properties and natural situations to create color field abstract photography. In particular, I've been wading out into the surf in Los Angeles, CA, USA at sunset with a camera in a housing and shallow depth of field lenses to create unique, abstract compositions. These moments are completely fleeting, as the water and reflections constantly move, and they enable me to paint with light.
